John de Regt

As founder and Principal of JDR Consulting, I help senior executives improve their business outcomes, through executive coaching, sounding board, and management team due diligence assessments. I also help top executives make successful transitions to retirement. My clients have included United Technologies, L-3 Communications, the Environmental Defense Fund, ICON Clinical Research and Sentara Healthcare.  I have completed multiple engagements for several of these organizations. Having coached more than fifty senior executives, my engagements are most often focused on helping people develop and maintain more effective business relationships.

I have more than forty years of leadership and professional experience. I have been an executive coach for the past five years and an executive search consultant for twenty-five years, as partner in three of the top global search firms. In December of 2010, I completed the Coaching Intensive Training program at the Hudson Institute of Santa Barbara, one of the most prestigious and comprehensive coaching certification programs in the United States.  I then completed Hudson’s Master Coach Program in 2014.

During my search career, as partner and practice leader at Spencer Stuart, Heidrick & Struggles and Russell Reynolds Associates, I managed hundreds of top-level searches around the world and learned to recognize the qualities that make some executives very successful.  Working with these individuals as both clients and candidates over the years, I have often served in the role of trusted advisor and, in that role, learned the subtleties of effectively interacting with senior executives.
